Summary
Angel R. Gonzalez brings 23 years of accounting, reporting and advisory experience to Emerytus Advisors. Prior to joining Emerytus Advisors, Angel was a 5+ years Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) in various telecommunications companies in Latin America where he was tasked with restructuring financial operations, scaling operating businesses, evaluating and managing a strategic review / monetization strategy of a large division of a $7 billion public registrant, and completely transforming the finance teams he was responsible for, including managing a team of over 100 finance employees in 28 countries across Latin America.
Prior to Angel’s CFO roles, he was an independent executive level consultant for public registrants in Florida, assisting these companies in complex transactions, accounting policy roll outs, technical support on multiple financial instrument related topics, and much more. Angel also spent 5 years as the Global Head of Accounting Policy for a Fortune 200 Agribusiness powerhouse and was responsible for the implementation and rollout of this Company’s global accounting policy framework, building the policy function, and training a workforce of 3,000+ finance employees.
Angel’s technical background comes from 10+ year career at PwC, where he served in the Banking and Capital Markets assurance practice, spent time in the Firm’s National Office practice where he provided accounting consulting services on financial instrument matters to global clients, before moving to a Senior Director role with the Firm’s Financial Instruments, Structured Products, and Real Estate Team. Angel is a Certified Public Accountant in Puerto Rico, Massachusetts, and New York, and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and minor in Information Systems from University of Massachusetts, where he graduated cum laude.
Outside the Office
When he’s not advising Emerytus clients, Angel enjoys assisting home buyers achieve the American Dream of owning a house serving as a Mortgage Loan Officer (“MLO”) and personal financial advisor to potential home buyers, and spending time on his 5-acre farm working on his homesteading skills.
