Junaid Farooq brings over 25 years of experience to Emerytus Advisors. Over the past two decades, Junaid has held significant roles at global investment banks, asset management firms, hedge funds, and Big Four consulting firms, establishing himself as a respected figure in the industry.

Junaid specializes in Data and AI strategy, encompassing a wide range of related disciplines. His expertise includes metadata management, data quality, governance, advanced analytics, and data science capabilities. He has successfully implemented key AI technologies such as machine learning (ML), large language models (LLMs), and generative AI (GenAI).

In his previous roles, Junaid demonstrated technical leadership by overseeing engineering teams responsible for architecting, designing, building, and deploying innovative solutions, ranging from rapid prototypes to large-scale applications. His collaboration with Chief Technology Officers and Chief Information Officers to develop future state platforms highlights his ability to work effectively in a team and his forward-thinking approach to data program alignment and convergence.

Most recently, Junaid spearheaded the Data Governance Strategy for two significant back-to-back bank acquisitions, CIT ($100B) and Silicon Valley Bank ($200B). He led cross-functional teams to drive integration across merging entities to ensure adherence to all relevant financial regulations. He also focused on supporting the combined entity to derive value from data and achieve deeper insights to enhance growth, profitability, and operational capabilities. He designed and implemented the Enterprise Data Management & Governance Program for the combined entity with a multiyear data maturity journey to achieve a target state operating model for core capabilities such as governance & oversight, metadata management, data quality, and data risk & controls.

Junaid's past technical leadership extends to overseeing engineering teams responsible for architecting, designing, building, and deploying innovative solutions, from rapid prototypes to large-scale applications. His collaborative work with Chief Technology Officers and Chief Information Officers to create future state platforms that ensure the convergence and alignment of all data programs further demonstrates his ability to work in a team and his forward-thinking approach.

Outside the Office

When Junaid is not advising his clients, he enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, and collecting classic German cars.
