Summary
Amy Micun brings 20 years of accounting, reporting and advisory experience to Emerytus Advisors. Prior to joining Emerytus Advisors, Amy operated her own advisory business for a year and a half, providing technical accounting services to various companies in the areas of debt and equity offerings and restructurings, investments in debt and equity securities, derivative instruments, and share-based transactions.
Before being self-employed, Amy was a Managing Director at Chord Advisors LLC (now part of WilliamsMarston), where she provided technical accounting advice to private, public, and pre-IPO companies in various industries (e.g., Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals, Entertainment, among others) primarily on complex debt and equity transactions, as well as various other complex technical accounting matters including Variable Interest Entities and consolidations, and implementation of the new revenue recognition standard.
Prior to Chord Advisors, Amy worked at The Hartford in Hartford, Connecticut, where she was an Assistant Director of Accounting Policy with concentration on investment accounting. While at The Hartford, Amy analyzed, documented, and reported on new accounting standards to investment professionals and accountants. She provided support/guidance for investment classifications, and she assisted in implementation and documentation of the accounting for new investment types and transactions. Prior to her role in the Accounting Policy, Amy was responsible for financial reporting in the Company’s International Division.
Amy started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Hartford, Connecticut in the Assurance practice, where she performed financial audits for multiple Fortune 500 companies as well as smaller non-public engagements in the Financial Services industry.
Amy is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Connecticut and holds a Master of Science in Accounting as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and minor in Mathematics from University of Connecticut, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Outside the Office
When she’s not advising clients, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, biking, swimming, and making memories one day at a time.
