David Ufheil

Senior Advisor - Office of CFO and IPO Readiness

 

Summary

David Ufheil brings over 30 years of financial leadership, accounting advisory, and IPO readiness expertise to Emerytus Advisors. He is a seasoned CPA with experience spanning Big 4 audit, advisory roles, and leadership as CFO of public and private companies.

David began his career at KPMG, where he spent over 20 years across the U.S. and in Germany building deep audit and controls expertise. He then spent five years in EY’s accounting advisory practice, followed by a senior leadership position at Riveron in Minneapolis, guiding companies through complex accounting and financial transformation.

As CFO of Helo Corp (a wearable technology company) and currently EPIEN Medical, David has overseen financial operations, strengthened governance and compliance, and supported equity and debt financings. He also served as contracted advisor to multiple private firms preparing for IPOs, supporting efforts ranging from carve-out financials and GAAP conversions to purchase price allocations and revenue recognition.

  • KPMG: Led global audit and controls engagements and built cross-border experience in U.S. and Germany 

  • EY & Riveron: Provided accounting advisory on revenue, leases, purchase accounting, and IPO readiness 

  • CFO at Helo Corp & EPIEN Medical: Directed financial strategy, capital raises, and operational growth 

David has significant experience with public equity and debt offerings, carve-out financials, SEC readiness, and post-IPO internal control frameworks. His strong technical foundation is complemented by practical execution as a senior finance leader.

David earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Indiana University and a licensed CPA in Minnesota.

Outside the Office

Outside of work, Dave spends his time golfing (when the weather in Minnesota allows), working out at the gym in the mornings, and playing basketball.  He also likes to travel with his wife, son and daughter, and appreciates a good wine or beer.
