Marc Rosenwald
Senior Advisor - Accounting & Reporting
Summary
Marc Rosenwald brings more than three decades of senior controllership and financial reporting leadership to Emerytus Advisors, with a long tenure at American Express and more recently as Corporate Controller for a Nasdaq listed start-up, Charge Enterprises, driving core controllership and financial planning and analysis. Throughout his career, Marc has been a trusted advisor to senior management, providing guidance on complex transactions, new accounting standards, system implementation and strategic initiatives. He is known for combining technical rigor with practical execution and delivering clarity in highly regulated, fast-moving environments.
At Charge Enterprises, Marc led the global accounting, consolidation, tax and treasury functions. He was accountable for all SEC external reporting and played a central role in the public-company readiness efforts. This included leading the implementation of a new ERP platform, standing up an SEC reporting infrastructure and overseeing SOX internal control readiness and compliance.
At American Express, Marc held multiple Vice President controllership roles, including Credit and Fraud, Risk Controller, Global Rewards Controller and Controller for Global Corporate Payments, as well as Controller, for Global Shared Services. These roles required disciplined accounting governance, consistent documentation standards, and tight coordination across Finance, product teams, operations, and risk stakeholders to deliver reliable outcomes at scale.
Marc also served Lead Financial Officer (i.e., American Express’s title for Business Unit CFOs) supporting US Card Servicing, giving him hands on experience translating complex product and operational activity into Finance level conclusions, specifications, and repeatable reporting outcomes. This operating model experience is critical to standing up a technical controllership function that can keep pace with change while remaining audit ready and regulator ready.
American Express became a bank holding company in 2008 and has operated under Federal Reserve supervision, reinforcing the regulated environment context in which Marc developed and led controllership capabilities that meet heightened governance and documentation expectations.
Marc holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS from the State University of New York at Albany.
