Ritchie Pagunsan

Senior Advisor - Accounting & Reporting

Summary

Ritchie brings more than 20 years of public accounting experience with a focus on audit and financial accounting advisory services, including roles at two Big Four firms. He has led cross-functional and cross-border engagements across a range of industries such as life sciences, healthcare, media and entertainment, and software and technology.

Ritchie spent over a decade with EY in the U.S. and abroad. As a Senior Manager in EY’s Financial Accounting Advisory Services practice in New York City, he advised clients on debt offerings, IPOs, M&A transactions, financial restructurings, and strategic divestitures (including carve-outs and spinoffs). He supported clients in preparing SEC filings, including carve-out audited financial statements. Earlier in EY’s Assurance practice, he supervised statutory, operational, and special-purpose audits.

At PwC and Marcum in New York City, Ritchie led teams performing integrated audits of publicly listed companies as well as private equity and venture capital clients. He also assisted organizations in complying with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and managed multi-year audits of private companies preparing to go public through SPAC or traditional IPO routes.

Most recently, Ritchie served as a Managing Director in BDO’s Accounting & Reporting Advisory Services practice in New York City. In this role, he advised clients on complex accounting matters related to major business transactions—including IPOs, M&A, carve-outs, and spinoffs—with expertise in revenue recognition, variable interest entities, debt modifications, stock compensation, and equity and debt financings. He supported the preparation of carve-out financial statements for SEC filings, guided clients through the adoption of new accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 326), and assisted with U.S. GAAP–to–IFRS conversions for consolidation and statutory reporting.

Ritchie earned his B.S. in Accountancy (cum laude) from the University of the Philippines and an MBA from the Asian Institute of Management. He was an exchange scholar at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in New York and holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant designation. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
