Summary

Sherwin brings over 15 years of high-impact leadership in accounting, reporting and advisory specializing in navigating the financial complexities of fast-growing, global and local organizations. Prior to joining Emerytus Advisors, Sherwin operated his own accounting and advisory business.

Sherwin’s professional career is rooted in the Big 4, where he managed audits for massive investment groups like Cerberus and Fortress at PwC, and supported complex engagements such as IPO readiness and carve-out projects for multinational clients at EY. This robust background paved the way for a highly specialized advisory career at firms including BDO, CFGI, and Kroll, where he functioned as a Subject Matter Expert for critical technical accounting standards, specifically ASC 805 (Business Combinations), ASC 340 (Deferred Costs), ASC 350 (Goodwill), ASC 360 (PP&E and asset step-ups), (ASC 606 (Revenue), ASC 842 (Leases), and complex M&A transactions.

Beyond advisory, Sherwin has a proven track record as an internal change agent within large scale corporate environments. At National Grid, he served as the primary technical subject matter expert for billion-dollar adoptions of IFRS 16, 9 and ASC 842. More recently, in a leadership role as Financial Controller at high-growth startup Inspire, Sherwin professionalized the finance function of the $10M+ organization, leading the crucial transition from cash to accrual accounting and establishing essential financial controls for investor transparency and scalability.

Sherwin is a dual-licensed CPA in New York and Florida and led a 15+ year career defined by technical rigor and diverse experience spanning professional services and corporate leadership.
